This IOI 2020 (Online Competition) is a minimal IOI.
Here are the summary of changes compared to a normal IOI:
- There is no guest track and there is no social day/excursion
We hope to invite those who can still participate in 2021 to join IOI 2021 @ Singapore instead - Registered adjuncts (local proctors and/or additional translators) do not need to pay any guest fee
- There is no IOI conference, but IOI journal volume 14 is still published
- There is no live scoreboard
Static result is posted after each contest day - There is no live stream
- There are only virtual opening and closing ceremonies using YouTube Premieres
Participants can choose to watch them live together with the host
However, participants can also watch the recording anytime afterwards - There is no IOI registration fee (of 200 Euro) collected in 2020
And also, the IOI foundation will NOT charge a higher IOI registration fee in 2021
(i.e., it remains 200 Euro for IOI 2021). - There is no committee member election
The updated terms of affected IC/ISC/ITC members have been updated here - There are only 4 General Assemblies (GAs) on 13, 16, 19, and 23 September 2020.
Note that contestants can already leave the local contest site(s) after 19 September 2020
(e.g., to attend online IMO 2020)
